The doctrine, or teaching, of salvation and whether the believer's eternal security is conditional (Arminianism) or unconditional (Calvinism) is a very, if not the most, contested debate among brilliant and godly theologians on both sides of this issue. The Bible will be your final authority but you will also need to confer with your parents, your pastor as well as read up on past theologians (books) to do your due diligence. The following are some excellent web articles and books advocating both sides. You will do well to study both sides before coming to a conclusion.
